Midwifery care from £350 per month
I am passionate about birth, and it is through birth that I earn my living. I consider myself a professional, and my fees reflect the time and commitment which you will receive off me. I do charge a one off fee of £75 for the initial consultation; if you decide to employ me this fee is deducted from the final fee. If you decide to engage me at a late date in your pregnancy the fee remains the same; this is reflected in the additional work that needs to be put into a shorter time frame! A payment plan is available.
Antenatal care only £1150
All care from when you employ me until you go into labour. This involves visits in your home, or a venue convenient to you. You will be able to contact me for advice and support through e-mails or telephone when you need me. This package is suitable for someone who wants continuity of care throughout pregnancy, or wants the convenience of appointments at a time and in a place convenient to you. It may be you want the comfort and support of the same midwife at each visit who will know you after you have had a previous traumatic birth, or it maybe you need a midwife that has the flexibility to perform antenatal visits in the evening or at weekends.
Booking visit - usually takes 2 hours: Involves full history, discussion about previous birth experiences, plan of care, options for pregnancy, physical examination (blood pressure, height, weight, BMI calculation).
Antenatal visits - generally lasting an hour: Physical examination (blood pressure, abdominal examination, urinalysis), discussion about changes relevant to each stage of pregnancy, dealing with common disorders or pregnancy, advice on healthy lifestyle, employment issues and any other matters you want to discuss.
Birth Plan visit: approximately 2 hours of working through all your options for birth, a real chance to examine what really matters to you and how you want the birth of your baby to go. Discussion about place of birth, who you want with you to support you, pain relief, positions you may want to adopt, requests for the birth (such as delayed cord clamping, who will cut cord, skin to skin).
Post natal care only: £950
From the minute you arrive home, until your baby is 28 days old I will visit you at home to support you in your first weeks as a new parent. Generally daily for the first 5 days, then spacing visits out as your confidence gains and feeding becomes established. From establishing feeding, to baby care, sleeping issues, neonatal screening test, weighing and general advice 24 hours a day you will have access to expert advice and support. If you need an extended stay in hospital I will arrange to come and see you whilst you are an in-patient to enhance the care you receive from the hospital midwives.
Full care: £3900
This involves all antenatal/postnatal care plus attendance at the birth of your baby. I will be on-call for you from 37 weeks of pregnancy. This obviously involves a huge commitment from me, which is reflected in the cost of this package. When you go into labour I will attend and support you as needed. I will stay with you, providing evidence based midwifery care until your baby is born. If you decide to birth in hospital I will accompany you to your chosen place of birth. As I am employed by you, and not the hospital I will be acting in an advocate role. Whilst in hospital I may not 'catch' your baby I will act as a registered midwife, protecting you and your choices. I will stay with you after your baby is born to help establish feeding and make you comfortable. If you decide to birth at home, I will stay with you until your baby has fed, and you are comfortable with me leaving. I will arrange for a second midwife to be present at the birth, her fees are included in your payment to me. You will meet this midwife towards the end of your pregnancy. Be assured my colleagues have the same birth ethos as me, and are fully registered midwives with the NMC.
Antenatal basic package £450

The second visit at approximately 24 weeks will answer any questions that you may have. The final visit in this basic package will be at approximately 36weeks when a detailed birth plan will be discussed. Please note that this is a basic package and does not include the detailed support that the complete package offers.
Debriefing/Advice/One off visit : £100 Useful to support with breast feeding, or just to have a full check up by a midwife. Or to discuss care received and explore options in the pregnancy.
Sometimes events may occur which leave you wondering about what exactly happened. In these cases it may be useful for another health care professional (me) to sit and read through your notes with you - explaining medical terminology and exploring the event as it has been documented.
